Who We Are

About Trionix

Trionix is a rookie FIRST Tech Challenge team of nine students in grades 7 to 9 from Alpharetta, Georgia, founded in June 2026. We are a fully student-led, community-based team competing in the 2026-27 CANOPY season. Donations are tax deductible through our 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor.

Mission

Our mission is to turn curiosity into engineering. We design, build, and code competition robots as a fully student-led team, developing real-world skills in engineering, programming, and collaboration while sharing our passion for STEM with the communities around us.

Vision

Our vision is to grow from a rookie team into a lasting STEM community. We aim to inspire the next generation of engineers, support and mentor fellow robotics teams around the world, and show that a student-run team can compete and give back on any stage.

We live the FIRST values of Gracious Professionalism® and Coopertition®. Students run the team: every member serves on at least two sub-teams, and students lead every build, code, and outreach decision.

Trionix is organized into four student-led sub-teams. Every member serves on at least two, so knowledge is shared across the whole team.

Team Captain: Sophia R.

My name is Sophia Ranjitkar, I am 14 years old, and I'm in 9th grade at FCS Innovation Academy. I am the team captain of Trionix, so I organize and plan for the team. I was in FLL for two years and this is my third year in FTC. When I'm not working in FTC, I play the drumset and clarinet, I am in my school's fencing team, and I play videogames.

CAD design in Fusion 360, mechanism prototyping, and robot assembly on our goBILDA platform.

Java robot code in Android Studio, autonomous routines, driver controls, and version control.

Community Impact

Outreach

Even before our first competition, Trionix has reached more than 200 students and professionals across two countries.

July 2026 · Nepal

Kathmandu STEM Tour

Three events in Kathmandu: our "ROBOTS!" presentation, unplugged coding activities, quizzes, and live robot demonstrations, reaching 194 students at two schools and 20 robotics professionals.

Ongoing · International

RAN Partnership

A season-long mentoring partnership with the Robotics Association of Nepal. Trionix helps RAN coordinate support for robotics teams across Nepal.
